BRUCE McALPINE
President
Bruce McAlpine, MBA, CPC, is the President of Fulcrum Search Science Inc. He has managed the executive search practice since 1988 as well as “working a desk”. Bruce is very active in the recruiting industry and has served on national industry-leading boards for over 20 years.
More About Bruce
Bruce is a past President of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment & Staffing Services (ACSESS) and the Association of Professional Placement Agencies and Consultants (APPAC). He currently chairs the ACSESS Ethics Committee. He led the ACSESS Professional Search Practice Special Interest Group for many years, and has been a national trainer for the industry certification program. Previously Bruce was President of Marketing Systems Inc., serving clients like Kodak Canada Inc., the Royal Bank of Canada, Canada Post and Marine Midland Bank in the U.S.A.
Bruce also worked for Xerox Canada Inc. in sales and marketing. In the ‘70s, he held command roles on three continents as an army officer with the Francophone Royal 22nd Regiment. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and has taught at the University of Toronto and at Primorski State University in Russia. A fitness enthusiast, he has run a marathon on all seven continents including Antarctica, as well as hiked the West Coast Trail, the Chikoot Trail from Alaska to the Yukon, and the Landmannalaugar Trail in Iceland.
Bruce is active in several Christian charitable organizations, serving at the Board and operational levels, and he volunteered actively with the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto for more than a decade.
